The Archaeology of the Findhorn and Culbin Dunes

  • This is a site for the archaeology in and around Findhorn, Moray. It will include the Culbin Sands, the Findhorn Dunes, and Burghead Bay. I have employed a ‘Landscape Archaeology’ approach, including my background in physical geography, to examine changes to the landscape since the end of the Ice Age—rising and lowering sea level, enormous qantities of water flowing from the uplands and moulding the land surface, and blowing sand.
